Vilankulos - Tofo

After a few days in Vilankulos I start thinking the weather might be better in Tofo, slightly more south. I only heard good things about Tofo and its diving - I am eager to go, wondering "Will this be a dream come true: finally diving with resident whale sharks and mantas?"

Arriving there I have to realise weather conditions are similar to Vilankulos - windy, rainy, chilly. Still I keep my hopes up for the diving, as sometimes it is better underwater than expected. This time it turns out to be disastrous: going out in 8m waves on a rubber boat is not joyous in the first place - adding on a strong surge at 16m depth is a killer. Good thing I took plenty of sea-sickness pills in advance... I was smarter then 60% of the other divers. I didn't go diving again in Tofo.... I guess I have to come back. Maybe the weather is better in South Africa?
