After a few days in Lüderitz I make myself leave this awkward town with its German feel and drive on to Namibias next major sight: Sossusvlei.

Sossusvlei and around has the oldest dunes in the the world. These dunes are red in color and made of Kalahari Sand. Spectacular as a sight and home to the Gemsbock, which enjoys wandering around in them. Me, finally arriving there and trying to hike up one of those dunes, I am not enjoying them that much! I am dying of heat... The supposedly amazing views from the top are not convincing enough for me to cope with these temperatures …. Well, you can't have or see it all!
